Rooted in environmental consulting services, Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) has a long history of offering traditional and on-site project management work for federal, state, local and private customers. Indeed, our name is a unit of work, derived from the Greek word ergon.
Linda Ashe founded ERG in 2000. With extensive experience in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) procedure and documentation, natural resource management and ecosystem restoration and mitigation planning, Ashe led the company through six federal prime indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) task-order contracts, as well as numerous subcontracts, providing environmental support to government agencies. Customers included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Joint Task Force North, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, several component agencies of the Department of Homeland Security, and state agencies.
On the last day of 2012, Gina Foringer, a service disabled veteran, purchased ERG. With nearly 25 years experience in the industry, Foringer has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting federal environmental operations. Foringer served honorably in the U.S. Army, earning the Purple Heart and a Meritorious Service Medal during Operation Continue Hope in Mogadishu, Somalia. After leaving active duty, she served the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an on-site contractor. Eventually, she joined and went up the ranks at Versar, Inc., before becoming president and owner of ERG.
In 2013, ERG was verified as service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVO) by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and third-party certified as an economically disadvantaged woman-owned (EDWO) small business (SB). ERG was also admitted into the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program. ERG was certified as a disadvantaged business enterprise/minority business enterprise in Maryland and Virginia.
As a participant of the 8(a) program, ERG is eligible for sole-source contracts up to a ceiling of $4 million. ERG must perform at least half of the work and remain a small business under $14 million through nine years.
Under new ownership, ERG will continue to provide high caliber environmental stewardship and mission success to firms and government agencies, through on-site and traditional project support.
